The Legacy of Steve Jobs

There’s no denying the impact that Steve Jobs had on Apple (AAPL), in fact…

One could argue that Steve Jobs may be the most influential man of the digital age.

Almost everything we now see as “essential” to 21st Century living can be attributed to his ingenuity, drive and scope of vision…

Not to mention, the amount of money these things were able to make for Apple and their investors.

Many people wondered what would happen to Apple with his passing. Many started posing the types of questions the death of a man of Steve Jobs’ stature would generate…

Would Apple survive? Would the company continue to innovate? Would it be able to stay at the top of the electronics heap?

And the one that I’ve thought about – would Apple be able to carry on the spirit of the man who drove it to become an almost trillion-dollar business?

Which is one of the questions that mankind has been trying to answer for a millennia…

How do you ensure your legacy after you’ve passed over to the other side?

Many people thought your legacy was all about your children or offspring – others about the accomplishments you’ve made or the number of people you’ve had an impact on…

And sure, all of these things could help you leave a lasting effect on the world you left behind, but Steve Jobs found a way to not only leave his mark on this world with his accomplishments and people’s lives he’s impacted…

But Steve Jobs also came up with a way to continue to help his company grow without him being there.

While he may have stepped down from his position as CEO of Apple in the months leading up to his passing – he didn’t stop working.

Despite knowing he was dying, Steve Jobs worked for more than a year on the products that he believed would safeguard the company’s future.

One of which, was his plan to build a spaceship looking new headquarters for

Apple, a plan that is moving full steam ahead, but that’s just the beginning…

He was also overseeing the development of the iCloud which, had been a bit delayed – but eventually got it’s roll out to the masses, something, I’m sure he regrets not seeing.

He did all these things while dying…

But that’s not even the most amazing part…

While he was doing all of this, he was also writing down all of his ideas for new or updated versions of the iPod, iPad, iPhone and MacBooks.

By doing this, he ensured that Apple had years’ worth of products in its pipeline, but even more…

He found a way to leave his continuing fingerprint on our world.

And if you look closely, you can see it…

It was his idea to get rid of the mechanical home button and make the screens bigger on the iPhones…

The iWatch?

Also his idea…

Though we really don’t know just how many things he put into motion with his notebook full of ideas.

As funny as this sounds, Steve Jobs wasn’t really a technological wizard – but a man of vision.

He knew what he wanted things to do and how he wanted them to function and look – but he really didn’t have the technical know how to create them all by himself.

So, for now, the ideas will have to be enough. But…

Talk about leaving a legacy! Steve Jobs may have written the blue print on how to ensure how we can be remembered forever.

And that’s something we can all learn from. He may have been a computer geek form Cupertino, CA but he happened to change the world for the better…

We can only hope that we can do the same.

As the creator of GorillaTrades, the writing of this article prompted me to ask myself what my legacy will be. And the answer is simple…

To help make as much money for as many people as I possibly can so that they can live the lives they want to live. Like I said…

Simple.

And I’d love for you to be a part of that legacy. Not just for me, but for you! I’d love to help you make more money in the markets …

But understand if you’d rather be your resource.

Just keep in mind, that if you want to leave your legacy – you need to figure out a way to do that. Take a page out of Jobs’ book…

He showed us the way…

We just have to follow him.

For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.” – Steve Jobs
