Locked And Loaded

There are many things that fathers (or father figures) are supposed to teach their sons…

How to fish, how to change a tire, how to change the oil in a car, how to catch, hit, and throw a baseball…

But the lesson most fathers take the most time and care with is the shooting, cleaning and safe handling of a firearm.

The rules of gun safety are pretty easy, even for a child…

  1. Always treat a gun like it’s loaded
  2. Keep your finger off the trigger unless you’re ready to shoot
  3. Keep it pointed down when walking, and finally…
  4. Never EVER point it at somebody unless you plan to shoot.

Most kids learn this with only a BB gun…

Then the rules get reiterated when they move on to real weapons, like a .22 rifle.

Although, many guns aren’t bought, but inherited. When a friend of mine’s grandfather passed away, he was given a .22 rifle, a .45, and a shotgun – while his grandmother held on to a .38 revolver.

On the other hand, some families have NEVER owned guns – like my same friend’s wife.  When he brought the weapons home, he had to teach her the same rules he learned 25 years earlier.

What’s funny is, when he and his wife first got together, she was adamant about not owning any guns or having any in the house. She was afraid of somebody breaking in and either killing them with it or taking the guns and killing somebody else.

Fast forward 16 years later, and my buddy’s wife now has her concealed weapons license and shoots often.

Of course, it’d be easy to argue that the world is a scarier place than it was 16 years ago…

So to say that her eyes had been opened between then and now, would be an understatement.

Road rage, mass shootings, terrorist attacks – it’s a wonder that MORE people don’t own firearms of their own…

But it’s funny how many differing opinions there are about guns.

Some cities ban them altogether, like Washington D.C. – while others, like Kennesaw, Georgia, require each household to have at least one gun…

And while there are statistics out there that show that private gun ownership deters crime, there are still plenty of opponents of firearms that continually call for more stringent gun control.

“Gun Control” movements seem to be a wave, sweeping across America…

And with each terrible tragedy that happens – the U.S. government is forced to deal with it in the only way they know how: with laws.

Like the banning of assault weapons and limiting the amount of bullets a magazine can hold…

Not that they don’t have good reason to…

Many of the massacres that have occurred over the past two decades or so were carried out by madmen wielding the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle – but that’s because of their look more than how they operate. They’re not automatic weapons, so banning this gun, or ANY gun for that matter, will not stop tragedies from happening.

If somebody wants to hurt people… they’re going to hurt people. Timothy McVeigh killed a lot more people and he never fired a shot.

Now, while I’ll agree that these weapons do make it easier to commit violence – it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the problem.

Lack of education is the real problem – on BOTH sides of the line.

But I digress…

The gun industry saw a BOOM during the Obama administration – as many conservatives were worried that the ex-President was going to “take all their guns” – so many of them went out and bought as much guns and ammo as they could afford.

Early investors in companies like Smith and Wesson (now a brand of American Outdoors Brands Corp- AOBC) and Strum, Ruger and Co. (RGR) watched as their stocks jumped roughly 1300% over the course of Obama’s presidency.

1,300%!

Incredible, I know, but now with a “conservative” in the White House, the gun industry has taken a bit of a tumble – losing more than 30% since their peak prices.

Why is that a good thing?

There is a chance that Trump may not be re-elected.

If America doesn’t see an improvement, the liberal push back could put a liberal in the highest office in the land – meaning this: gun prices may be the lowest we’ll see for a long time to come.

Which is why I’m now looking for the perfect fit for my GorillaTrades system…

Once I find it – I’ll be putting word out to my subscribers so they can be among the first to reap the profits!

I’d love to have you with us if that comes to fruition – but understand if you’d rather be your own man (or woman).

Either way, do yourself a favor and keep your eye on this politically-inclined industry…

It could put BIG money in your pocket.

After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.” –William S. Burroughs
